IMPORTANT EG NOTEWhere were you 20 years ago (circa 1989) and what were you dreaming about?
20 years ago I was 11 yeas old. At that time I was dreaming about being a rock and roll princess, falling in love and fierce independence.

What one thing has someone said about you that has made you feel proud and accomplished?
Every time a student says that they enjoyed my class, every time someone says that they were inspired by my DVDs and every time some one says that they have been touched by anything that I’ve done I feel proud and honored to carry on the tradition of yoga.

In addition to your current contributions to society, what environmental cause would you like to promote with your image?
I would like to inspire people to be more conscious of all their actions so that the awareness has a ricochet effect in their lives. I feel that when people are happy and peaceful inside they live happier and more fulfilling lives. It is in this space that we can change the world…. one person, one breath at a time.

Who or what has inspired you to do amazing things?
My teacher Sri K. Pattabhi Jois inspired me to practice yoga and he inspires me every day. He passed away at 93 and taught yoga for more than 70 years. Here’s a link to an article that I wrote about him.

What song makes you want to boogie every time you hear it?
Do It Now by Dubtribe Sound System.

What about a song that makes you feel a little naughty every time you hear it?
You Turn Me On by Danny Tenaglia.

Take a second to picture a face in front of you, peaceful and happy, can you share with us who you see and what you feel?
Right now I see my teacher Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and I feel blessed and lucky to have been able to call this amazing man my teacher.

If you could have your students engage in one daily practice to give back to Mother Earth what would that be?
I think a modest goal of being nice to all beings, including the Earth, all day is a good start.
