EarthGirl Lala: A Sexy Earth Momma

30 November 2011 No Comment

What makes you an EarthGirl?
I consider myself an EarthGirl because I love Mother Earth and I have built my career around making it a better place.

Please tell our readers what you’re working on that’s positively impacting our planet and its people.
My ever- expanding clothing line ReVamp ReLove, based on a high-end fashion line using all recycled materials, from fabrics to accessories.

What’s inspired you to do the amazing things that you do?
My family, who subconsciously push me to be a better person every day. Also my visits to very needy communities in Ghana, Africa and Haiti where I had the opportunity to give back some of what life has given to me.

What environmental cause would you like to promote with your image?
Re-using, Recycling, Re-vamping. Stop consumerism and the craziness of purchasing everything new by using recycled materials to make fashionable clothes.

When did you become aware of how magnificent our planet is, and the power of human action with Her?
December 26, 2004 changed my life forever. That was the day the coast of Indonesia was hit by a massive Tsunami. I then realized the power of the Earth and decided to dedicate my life to giving back rather than living in an individual bubble.

Do you have any earth-friendly rituals you’d like to share with us?
Besides recycling the usual products (plastic, paper, aluminum), I save landfills from tons of fabric because I use recycled materials in the confection on my clothing line ReVamp ReLove.

What earth-friendly products do you love, use or wear?
ReVamp ReLove all the way.

What change would you like to make, that would help our planet in some way, that you haven’t made already?
I would like to, and will at some point, sponsor, with my line, low income birthing centers around the world making it accessible for mothers-to-be to dress comfortably and fashionably.

What do you think is an important change that consumers and corporations should make TODAY for a better world tomorrow?
Believe in the power of change and sponsor local products.

What one thing has someone said about you that has made you feel proud and accomplished?
EarthGirl Gianna: “I’m IN LOVE WITH MY WEDDING DRESS!” (Gianna’s wedding dress was recently “revamped” with love by Lala.)

What obstacles do you encounter and how do you break through them?
Obstacles are always there but I have a very optimistic attitude towards life and try to see every obstacle as a challenge and an opportunity to grow.

Do EarthGirlz really have more fun?
Everlasting fun…

Can you share a little something more with our EarthGirlz readers?
As I write these answers I am literally having labor contractions of my firstborn…a baby boy already named Pöe Luna.

You’re trapped on an island with a tree that only grows one thing. What is it?
Diapers!!!!!!!!!!! LOL (This response was given after Lala gave birth; we’re sure this magic tree would provide endless earth-friendly, cloth diapers. :) )

We usually have each EarthGirl make their EarthGirl wish at the end of the interview, but we didn’t have a chance to get one from Lala. We think we know what it was though, and that it came true…
EarthGirl now EarthMomma Lala said, “Pöe Luna arrived on Wednesday the 9th of November at 1:35am, weighing 5lbs 15oz and measured 19 inches. With my mom, sister, Love, Shelemaya and Nahama as my support team, we all witnessed a miracle!! Now we have him home, and we couldn’t be on a higher high than this love high.”

Welcome, Pöe Luna! We send you, your mommy and daddy lots of love.

Thank you Jayme Gershen for sharing your photo with us. Check out more images, news, etc. on our Facebook page.
